HACKS FOR EVERYONE WHO HAS A CAR!

Depending on where you live and work, you probably spend a pretty significant portion of your life in your car.

Why not put in a little work to make that time as convenient, clean, and organized as possible?

First of all, you want your car to smell nice, right? Those hanging thingies don’t work for long and they are quite expensive.

· Make your own air freshener by putting a couple scented wax cubes in a mason jar with holes in the lid. When the car heats up, the wax will melt, releasing the fragrant scent.

· Put a soft refill of a fabric softener in your car, under a seat.

· Use fresh smelling nappy liners too!

· Put a porous bag full of bath salts/rocks under a seat or two!

Secondly, organisation of goodies in the car is key! Especially when you or your wife have kids in the car on a daily basis – to and from school and extra mural activities! Or, for long distant trips!

It’s easier to remove all these storage units to clean than having to try dig into every nook and cranny every time you want to clean your car up.

· Everyone knows how grimy car cup holders can get. If you place one of those silicone cupcake liners in your cupholder, they’ll make it much easier to dump out and wipe clean.

· A muffin tray in a small basket is much sturdier than the drink trays you usually get from fast food restaurants — and they can hold more drinks, too.

· Pop a couple laundry baskets in your trunk and use them to hold your groceries whenever you go shopping. Not only will this keep them from falling over, but it also makes it easier to carry them all in at once. Also great for tools and kids sports equipment!

· Hang a shoe organizer on the back of your passenger seat for an easy way to organize kids toys and snacks. Or shoes, if you happen to have a bunch of them in your car.

· Rather than throwing your fast food wrappers etc onto the floor of your car, buy a medium size cereal container with a lid and use it as a makeshift trash can. Hygienic too!

· If your centre console area has one large storage area, consider splitting it up with several small containers with or without lids. Great for keeping spare change for car guards! And, for remotes!
